"Rocky sandy beach with tidal pools adjacent to marina"
Vejbystrands northern part is located just south of a small marina. The beach is sandy but there is an abundance of rocks along the shore and in the water. These make up natural pools that uncover at low tide. The water is shallow and at times there is some algae. Grassy sand dunes line the beach. There is no shade on the beach so bring protection. Look out for strong currents that can be created in the water, in particular in windy conditions. There are saltwater swimming pools south of the beach. The concrete bunker by the beach was part of a 500 km defense line running along the Swedish coast to protect from potential invasions. Today it is the base of a restaurant. From Vejbystrand you can access the Skåneleden trail (orange markers) and hike along the coast northwards to Båstad or southwards almost all the way to Malmö. Check with the local tourist office before hiking to be sure the trail is in good condition.
