"Long flat beach with very shallow waters"
Örby Ängar beach is a long beach located just south of Råå marina. You reach it by taking off from the main road (Landskronavägen) and following the road Örbyvägen. Parking is available both adjacent to the marina (Västindiegatan) and close to a sports field. The sand is mixed with gravel and there is also gravel and cobbles along the shore-line. If you prefer grass to the gravelly sand there is a vast field next to the beach. Shrubs and grassy areas line the beach and further inland are deciduous trees. Thus, there is virtually no shade on the beach. This beach is popular among families with children given the very shallow waters. The undulating sea bottom is beautifully rippled by the calm waves. There is a pier that enables getting further out in the water. Frequently there is some seaweed and algae on the beach and in the water. On clear days you may enjoy a view of the Danish coastline just across the Sound and the many ships passing by. Towards the north is Råå marina and towards the south the view is natural. The beach is part of a natural reserve open for recreational use (hiking, biking and horse-riding). A 200 meter long section of the beach is designated for dogs.
