"Flat sandy beach with very shallow waters and view of Båstad marina"
Malen beach stretches northwards from the city of Båstad. The beach faces open water with a nice view over Båstad marina and the surrounding gently rolling hills. The beach is sandy, in some areas with a rather high share of cobbles. It is mixed with light shells and in the near shore waters gravel. There are also scattered boulders both on the beach and in the water. The clear water is very shallow over a rippled sandy sea bottom. There are several piers. High grass and shrubs and further inland pines line the beach. There is not much shade on the beach. Close to the beach are swimming pools filled with sea water (open in June and August; fee). There you can also find food and drinks. The concrete bunker you can find on the beach was part of a 500 km defense line running along the Swedish coast to protect from potential invasions.
