"Half a kilometer long pier, views over bridge, turning torso & huge ice creams"
Bjärred beach is a small beach known for its over 500 m long pier that ends at a cold-bath house with café and restaurant. It is worth visiting not the least for the fantastic ocean view in all cardinal directions. The beach vegetation is also rare. The beach is very popular, perhaps in particular among children given its grand playground just by the sea and the ice cream kiosk known for the generous servings. The kiosk is located at some distance from the beach so grab the ice cream on arrival or on your way back home. There is a trail leading down to the beach from the parking area. The waters are very shallow. One can walk several hundreds of meters out in the bay. There is frequently an abundance of seaweed. So when walking you may have to crisscross over the sea bottom composed of a mix of sand and gravel. From the beach you have a nice view over Öresund bridge and Turning Torso. In a northwards direction there are summerhouses with private piers and an abundance of reed vegetation and in the distance Barsebäck nuclear power plants (inactive). The emergency phone is located by the kiosk at some distance from the sea.
