Halvmånenbeach got its name from its moonlike shape. It is a beach in the middle of Landskrona city, very close to the Medieval castle (citadel). The beach is lined by a stone wall that also limits the beach towards the north. In the south is a water tower that supplies the city with water. The seawater is very shallow and there is frequently an abundance of seaweed and algae. There are also a number of thin stone constructions parallel to the beach in the water.
